A press conference held on the 17th floor auditorium at TATA Centre today marked the launch of our latest ‘environmentally conscious’ purchase solution – Green Sourcing. The conference was attended by our MD, Vinaya Varma and Anirban Sarkar.
Sanjay Wadvani, British Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata was the chief guest who unveiled the www.greensourcing.in website in the presence of our MD. As you are aware, mj, already a loyal canvasser of the green by adopting environment–friendly technologies, transparent business practices and innovation, also has an affirmed climate change policy. We foresee a leadership role in the procurement space in India, engaging ourselves in climate change advocacy and working towards reducing carbon footprint of our stakeholders. Thus the launch of this ‘environmentally conscious’ sourcing service can be projected as a natural extension of our line of businesses and our vision.
“mjunction’s Green Sourcing initiative has the potential to spur innovation; stimulate market for new and innovative products and services in diverse industries,” is what Mr Wadvani had to say about our latest initiative.
Kudos to the cross functional team lead by Anirban Sarkar who contributed to the successful implementation of an idea which had germinated more than a year back.
The benefits from green sourcing are enormous. When green sourcing is adopted by large sections of the Indian industry, the entire supply chain will be forced to turn environment friendly, as each buyer will then demand and get a cleaner and greener alternative. This service has the power to create a ripple effect…and this is just the beginning!
