mjunction and Team India bat for VAANI

After having conducted some of the most unique and biggest online auctions in the B2B market space covering industries like steel, coal, automobiles, real estate to name a few, mjunction services limited, the country's largest eCommerce company, announced 'Action2Auction' – an online auction of exclusive memorabilia of the Indian cricket team at straightline.in in support of hearing impaired children. The memorabilia available for bidding at straightline.in from December 22, 2009 comprises actual gear worn by the cricketers in the recently concluded Test series and the test matches played during India's tour of Sri Lanka. The players have personally autographed these souvenirs, which include batting gloves of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, batting pads and jersey of the current Team India captain MS Dhoni and rising cricket talent Suresh Raina's jersey and gloves to name a few.

The online bidding at www.straightline.in starting on and from December 22, 2009 and continuing till January 18, 2009, aims to raise funds for VAANI Deaf Children's Foundation - benefiting the hearing-impaired children in India.

Announcing the initiative, Mr. Viresh Oberoi, Managing Director, mjunction services limited, said "As India's largest eCommerce company, we execute numerous business transactions every day, creating value for our customers across diverse industries by bringing in the efficiency, transparency and convenience of eCommerce. This occasion is special; it is an opportunity for us to empower young and special lives through VAANI and re-affirm our strong values of sound corporate ethics and best practices. On a lighter note, I call upon every Indian to capture a part of her cricketing history by bidding @ straightline.in, thereby enabling a bright future for the hearing impaired children and their families."

Ms. Brinda Crishna, Director, VAANI commented: "Hearing-impaired children often face a complete disconnect from the world around them and feel totally isolated. VAANI as an organisation attempts to understand this complex disability and educate parents and teachers and create awareness amongst people in the society, about what needs to be done for the healthy and inclusive development of a deaf child. We are extremely pleased and grateful for the support extended to us by Mr. Arun Lal, the entire Indian Cricket Team and our online auction partner – mjunction, for providing us a unique platform like straightline.in. The online auction conducted will help our cause of raising funds for these special children. It will help us in overcoming geographical barriers and enable us to reach out to people across the country and generate further support for the cause."

Former Indian cricketer and notable commentator in the international cricket circuit, Mr. Arul Lal who facilitated the eAuction of the Cricket Memoriblia, said "I am very happy to help and support VAANI. I am excited and look forward to the online auction to see how this cricket crazy nation will bid for some prized mementos of their heroes. My special thanks to mjunction and straightline.in who have helped further the cause as also enabled us to reach out to every Indian through their online platform. I appeal to all to bid and to win and in turn help the deaf children find a voice."

straightline.in is mjunction's eRetail initiative which made its debut in October this year. Backed by one of the most advanced technological platforms provided by CTS and IBM, straightline provides world-class online shopping experience for consumers across the country. Foraying further into the eRetail sphere, the online auction of cricketers' memorabilia also marks the launch of eAuction services at straightline.in. The new service at straightline.in will enable online auction of surplus retail products and commodities of various manufacturers and sellers.
