August '09

1. Nomination Category: Customer Satisfaction
Nominees: Samya Mukherjee, Tapan Kr Adak
Subject : Increasing flexibility of EPS deployment at SAIL DSP with EPS-SAP integration.

With SAIL deciding to migrate its legacy systems to SAP it had become a concern for SAIL & MJ on whether EPS would be compatible with proposed R/3 (SAP).

Work Done – Initial discussions were held onsite between EPS BU &Technology team with MM and C&IT officials of SAIL-DSP during early 2009. Officials of HP (i.e. SAP Implementation Partner of SAIL-DSP) were also involved in these discussions. Requirements were carefully analysed, development done and suitable interface deployed by Technology team for testing. After successful testing, mjunction had pressed for a separate charge for this activity which has been approved by MD, SAIL-DSP. SAIL-DSP can now rest assured of seamless integration of R/3 (SAP) with existent Enterprise Procurement System (EPS). This would also enable client to adopt ERP without affecting their current e-procurement platform (i.e. EPS).

Benefit to Client – SAIL-DSP can now rest assured of seamless integration of R/3 (SAP) with existent EPS. This would also enable client to adopt ERP without affecting their current e-procurement platform (i.e. EPS).

2. Nomination Category: Customer Care
Nominees - Suman Mallik, Keshab Chandra Mandal, Sweta Jaiswal, Payel Chatterjee
.
Subject : RA of project Package 48C 2A, Fabrication & Erection of Steel Structure for BOF, CCP, LIME & Dolomite Plant.

The clients had to key requirements; conducting the RA within a nano time period effectively of half a day from the receipt of the mandate letter at HO & discovering the best market price with the eligible vendor list.

The buyjunction operations team at HO and the client facing team at the branch office took up this challenge; meticulous action plan was drawn with very clear responsibility allocation for the major activities to be done for successful conduct of the RA, including bidder training to the two new bidders as well as the existing bidders. The team members adhered to this extremely crunched time schedule to do a quality job that ensured compliance to all internal processes also.

The commitment and dedication of this team resulted in the completion of the RA to the delight of the client as is evident from the appreciation letter sent by the client to that effect.
